This is my take on Rick Pilgrim’s teaching at Men’s Prayer Breakfast

How many problems do we bring on ourselves?  How many struggles do we decide to just  deal with or simply say “That’s Life”?  We will always pray for good days or health in our lives, or for our kids to succeed in school, but what about the other stuff?  According to the Apostle Paul we are all workers of miracles, God has done His part and we need to apply our faith the way Jesus intended for our faith to be used!  Jesus did nothing in his time on Earth without prayer, Nothing!  After all it says that we are to strive to be Christ like and that we were all born with the same abilities, we tend to fail in one small area though,  Our Faith!!  Faith is simply the evidence of things not seen.  I’m sure we can all think back and remember that we used our faith and it came to pass.  I can remember a time when my oldest son was about five or six and he had a horrible fever, strep throat and he could not even hold his medicine down.  I sat down beside him, prayed with him and I simply told God that I didn’t want my son to go through this anymore.  He was to little and just to innocent to be in such agony and that I wanted God to let me to take that fever on myself and allow his symptoms to begin to break and that is exactly what happened.  I became flush and very warm and at the very same time Bridger’s symptoms were gone.  If we will read Ephesians 6:10-13 out of the message it says

And that about wraps it up. God is strong, and he wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way. This is no afternoon athletic contest that we’ll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels. Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet.  Highlighting verse twelve I believe the message bible nailed this one!  Our lives are absolutely not a sporting event!  In my mind my prayer for my son was a God given miracle!  Miracles are not what we do, but instead they are who we are in Christ!  God calls us to read his word daily and if we will do that our faith will grow and we will BE what God called us to BE!  God does not want us to be sick, He did not want my son to be in the state that he was in, truth is He doesn’t want any of the things that happen to us to happen, but in this broken planet we call home it happens, but what would our lives look like if we expressed our faith in the ways that Paul says we can.  People don’t have to live with high blood pressure or diabetes or anything that ails our bodies. The things we see or that the doctor reports may be accurate, but they do not have to be true according to God’s word!  Speak God’s word over your life, live out your faith and BE what God has called you to BE!
